Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the platform, the model, and how everything works.
What is AMP Analytics Arena?
AMP Analytics Arena is a multi-sport player prop analytics platform from Anthony, Michael and Patrick.
What is KSplit?
KSplit is the MLB strikeout model, and Michael's modeler name.
Is AMP a betting service?
No. AMP is not a betting service. AMP does not place bets or accept wagers. AMP is built on projections, not gut-feel picks. All data is provided for informational and educational purposes only.
Do you provide picks, plays, or recommendations?
Yes. We send picks in the Discord. The website boards still show projections, probabilities, and comparisons so you can see the number behind each play.
How are the strikeout projections calculated?
Each projection is a full probability distribution of strikeouts, not a single number.
1. Strikeout rates by handedness
Pitcher and hitter strikeout rates per plate appearance, split vs. lefties and righties.
2. Pitch-mix matchups
How each hitter performs against the pitches this pitcher actually throws.
- Whiff rates
- Chase rates
- Called strike rates
3. Batters faced
A projected workload based on pitch counts and leash, updated when lineups are confirmed.
4. Distribution model
These combine into the probability of every strikeout total, which gives:
- The median
- The over/under probability
- The ladder probabilities
5. Calibrated and graded
Probabilities are checked against results and the closing line, and adjusted where they've run hot or cold. Results are on the Diagnostics page.
Why don't projections always match actual results?
Strikeouts are inherently variable and influenced by factors such as game flow, pitch counts, efficiency, and managerial decisions. KSplit models probability and uncertainty. It does not attempt to predict exact outcomes or eliminate variance.
How often is the dashboard updated?
The dashboard updates daily and may refresh as starting pitchers are confirmed and lineups become available. Updates are reflected directly on the dashboard.
What is the difference between free and subscribed access?
Free users can view yesterday's completed dashboard, distributions, and outcome data in read-only mode.
Subscribers receive access to expanded probability metrics, distribution-based insights, historical logs, and additional analytical depth.
What sportsbooks are used for odds?
Market odds are sourced from widely available sportsbooks and are shown for reference and comparison purposes only. Odds may vary by sportsbook and are subject to change.
How are market odds compared to the model?
KSplit converts market odds into implied probabilities and removes the sportsbook margin (vig) before comparison. This allows for a fair, apples-to-apples comparison between the model's probability and the market's estimate.
How accurate is the model?
No projection system can guarantee outcomes. KSplit tracks and logs historical projections and results to measure error and bias over time, with a focus on transparency rather than selective reporting.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time according to the terms shown at checkout.
Is AMP legal to use?
AMP provides analytical information only and does not facilitate wagering. Users are responsible for complying with all local laws and regulations related to sports betting or data usage.
Who is KSplit for?
KSplit is built for users who want:
- A structured, data-driven view of pitcher strikeouts
- Probability-based context instead of narratives
- Transparent analytics without the hype
Where can I learn more about how the model works?
The Methodology page provides a detailed explanation of how projections, probabilities, and market comparisons are generated. For a step-by-step tour of the columns on the live board, see our How to Guide for Today's Dashboard. For metric-by-metric definitions, read the Glossary.
